At Star Boer Goats, our goal is simple — to set your goat up for success before it even leaves our farm.

All of our goats receive a CD&T vaccination and a booster. CD&T protects against overeating disease — especially important for goats on high-grain show diets — and tetanus, which is a real concern for banded wethers. We also treat for Coccidia before any goat leaves the farm. Coccidia is one of the most common causes of diarrhea in young goats and spreads fast in confinement settings, so we get ahead of it early to keep your goat healthy from day one.

We start all of our show goats on grain as early as possible. Around one month of age, kids have access to a creep feeder stocked with a high-quality show feed blend (supreme doe - Lamb Slam) so they're already building frame and condition well before weaning at approximately 3 months. Getting them started early means less weaning stress when it arrives at your place.

Our wether kids are banded at Ten weeks of age. By the time they're ready to leave our farm, they're fully healed and adjusted.

All wethers are dehorned at a young age for both safety and show ring presentation. Horns on a wether can be a hazard for the young FFA and 4-H students handling them. We take care of this early so scurs aren't a concern down the road.

We take pride in doing the hard work upfront so you don't have to. Every goat that leaves Star Boer Goats has been prepped, vaccinated, and cared for with your success in mind. Whether you're chasing a banner at your county fair or building toward state, we want to be the farm that helps get you there.
